Knocking at the door

Jul 09, 2012

Our stable has been racing well this month, we just need a little more luck.

Empress Zakynthos has ran 1st and 2ND her last 2 starts, but both should have been wins. Last start she knuckled at the barriers and received interference by the horse beside her on jumping. She was then forced back running at the rear of Th field the entire race. From the 600 she started to slide around the outside the field tackling a Black Faith to the finish line being beaten a neck. It was very impressive so we have high hopes for her Fri in the same race at Geelong.

Flash Madica also had his first start back after a much needed 4 month break. He ran at Warracknabeal over 1200m from  barrier 11 of 12. The gelding jumped well pushing to the front as instructed leading the field to the 200m post. He was then tackled by the 2 horses sitting 2ND and 3rd but held on for 3rd place after doing all the work. Linda Meech said he was racing really well and feels great. She also thought he will stay competitive over 1200 to 1400m.

We have a new addition having her first start for us Fri called Gigantamiss. She has been with us for a month now working on her confidence and building her hind quarters for more power. She ran 2ND in a trial at geelong, which we changed her racing pattern from forward to last and she finished of well. This race will teach us allot about her.

This Wed we have 4 horses trialing which will take us to the races over the next few weeks.
